Malcolm Park The menu options appears right above the centre tray icon in any orientation. It completely covers the back button when Time is selected.
To help you understand which menu it is, the menu options are:
show tonight’s best
Unhilight list
Select next object
Surprise me
Show list in galaxy view. -
Keiron Smith Malcolm,
Please provide the following info:
- App and version - see Help > scroll to the bottom
- OS version
- Device make and model
- Screenshot(s) of the issue
Thanks!

Keiron Smith markusd112 this linked issue has been marked as fixed by developers.
So, unless Malcolm Park replies again (or someone else confirms this is still an issue in the latest version) I'm going to assume he just needs to update his app.
Thanks!
-
Malcolm Park Can I assume this means that the issue is a valid concern, and it will be fixed in an upcoming release?
I have checked, I dont see any updates in the app store.
I already posted all the screen shots as requested, including my app version.
thanks,
Malcolm

Malcolm Park -
Malcolm Park posting again because they were posted on another thread as well.
-
Malcolm Park if I un-hilite the list, the menu goes away. Not an ideal solution. But its a workaround until its fixed.
-
Keiron Smith I see, okay, so the previous link was initially a report for the same issue on Android - which was fixed. Yours is a report for the same issue on iOS. And it is slated for fix in the SkySafari 7.2 iOS update. I said as much in the other thread as well.
Thanks for your reply, Malcolm!

markusd112 Maybe the bug is fixed, but the new version with the fix isn‘t already available in the app store, For me same: the problem is still there, SS7pro V.7.1.3 (1060). ipad 9gen, ipadOS 16.1.1
-
Keiron Smith On iOS, the bug is slated to be fixed in 7.2. So, you will find it on iOS.
The bug was fixed on Android.
Apologies for the confusion.

Garry Bluhm Works ok on my iPad Pro 9.7 & iPhone 7Plus, iOS 15.7.1 , SkySafari 7 Pro 7.1.3 (1060)
Well today,3/1/2023, updated my iPad Pro SkySafari7Pro to 7.1.8 and now I’m in the same buggy boat as the other users.🙁
Use IPad Pro 9.7” with iOS15.7.2
Will not update my iPhone7Plus yet as it still works just fine.
-
Zak Foreman Is there any ETA on 7.2 release? Looking forward to this fix.

Stewart Blackshaw After the recent issues with SF7 Pro I find that when in Night Mode the iPad keyboard does not “redden” when it is activated. The SF7 app goes into night mode but the iPad 10 keyboard does not. Maybe just me overlooking a setting, but anyone else had this happen?
-
Garry Bluhm Hi Stewart,
Have you checked in Menu>Settings>Appearance & Behavior>Redden Keyboard in Night Vision is toggled On?
Hope that’s all it is.
Garry
-
Stewart Blackshaw Thanks for responding Garry. I did check the “redden keyboard” toggle before posting and it is on. I have SF7 on my iPhone 13 as well, and it behaves the same way. I will reinstall SF7 on one of the devices and see if that makes a difference. Thanks again

Keiron Smith Apologies for the disappointment, seems this issue persist on some iOS devices.
Next SS7 update is scheduled for end of April.
Is there any workaround at this time?
Developers are aware of the issue and will have it fixed in the next update.
Thanks for your patience.
-
Mooks Crossing Thank you, Keiron! We look forward to the fix as this app is incredible.
-
Keiron Smith Garry, Mooks,
- Please try toggling the Time Controls off/on. Does that help?
- Please also try resetting to factory defaults.
- And, finally, reinstall the app.
This is not an issue with everyone. So, it could be something strange about the app on your specific devices, i.e. SS7 is in a strange state. Or, it is specific to your device.
Thanks!
-
Garry Bluhm Hi Keiron,
Toggling Time Controls didn’t help.
Offloaded app, power cycled iPad Pro, & reinstalled also no help.
So before the 7.1.8 update my iPad Pro 9.7 (iOS15.7.1) with SS7Pro7.1.3 did not have any problem and now it does (iOS15.7.2).
Just now updated SS7Pro to 7.1.8(1085) on my iPhone7Plus and it still works correctly!
Very strange?

Garry Bluhm Keiron,
Have now updated my iPad Pro 9.7 to iOS 16.3.1 and no change in the behavior of SS7Pro 7.1.8 with regards to the Observing List Icon obscuring the display of the Time Control .
Still have SkySafari 6 Pro on my iPad Pro and it works correctly in that it doesn’t have the obscuring issue.
Garry
-
Mooks Crossing Followed the advice and there has been no change to my IPhone 12 plus. Still have the issue occurring.
-
Keiron Smith Thanks for trying, developers will fix it in the next app update.
-
Mooks Crossing Thank you!
-
Garry Bluhm So here’s a head scratcher. Last night went out to do a Mini Messier Marathon at Lk Hudson using an Observing List in SS7Pro. Set up mount & scope , connect & align, select Messier Marathon Observing List, and all is good. About 4hrs later I realize that the list is above the Scope Control tool bar & not obstructing it.
Selected Time and it displayed correctly
Tried it at home not connected to scope
So somehow it’s now working correctly again.
-
markusd112 Here the problem is still there:
-
Mooks Crossing Mark they are supposed to be fixing this issue in the next update (April). Hopefully, this will do the job. Its beyond annoying working with this app at this point.
-
Garry Bluhm Absolutely is / was annoying. Just don’t understand in my circumstance how it just went from not working to working properly.
Curious, have you tried to see if you select Scope instead of Time if the behavior is in the same way obstructing the Scope control?
