Keiron Smith Are you using the same version of Pro 6 on Note 8 and Note 10?
Don't update Pro 6 on the Note 8 if you're running an older version.
Also, what is the StarBT? Please link me to the product page.
Thanks!

Victor Vega Same version of Pro 6 on both phones (ver. 6.8.6.16).

Keiron Smith If it's the same version SkySafari 6 Pro on both phones then the issue is not with SkySafari code.
Either the settings are not the same.
Or, the Android OS is not the same.
Please see if you can figure it out.
Thanks!

Victor Vega The settings are the same. However the OS is an older version, Android 9. But still, why is Skysafari 7 Pro not working with the scope with the latest version of Android? Isn't it advertised to work with Android 10 and up? Anyway, I spent about 5 hours tinkering with the app and found out that it will connect after 30 or so back to back tries. I guess I spent money on a broken app with lousy customer service that will tell paying customers "see if you can figure it out". Thanks for nothing.

Keiron Smith Victor,
We support our official products 100%.
You are using StarBT, which is not our product, and is not tested, nor officially supported.
As I said, if it's the same version SkySafari 6 Pro on both phones then the issue is not with SkySafari code - however, SkySafari 6 is an older program that is not receiving any more updates. So, if you find the app is not running properly on the latest versions of Android OS then consider upgrading to SkySafari 7, as this is the app currently under development, receiving app updates to maintain compatibility with the latest OS on the market.
Also, sounds like the issue may be with Android OS and StarBT.
Thanks!

K Hayes It's a year later than the original post, but I'm also using the StarBt Bluetooth adapter and am getting the same error message while running StarSafari. Here is what I have:
App and version: StarSafari 7 Plus
Android OS: 14
Bluetooth device: StarBt
Scope make and model: Celestron NexStar 11 GPS with version 4.22 hand controller and version 4.06 motor controlMy setup is the same as shown by the original poster.
I first used a Pixel 8 Pro phone running Android 14 connected to the StarBt. I get the same error message that there is a wireless connection (Bluetooth in this case), but the scope is not responding.
I also tried a Motorola Stylus phone running Android 12 connected to the StarBt. I still get the same error message.
However, if I run StarSafari 7 Plus on my Lenovo Tab P11 Pro tablet running Android 13 connected to the StarBt I no longer get an error message and I can execute GoTo's using StarSafari .
I tried changing the StarSafari Readout Rate setting to higher and lower values than the default on my Android phones (Pixel 8 and Motorola Stylus) but I still get the same error message.
Any idea why StarSafari works on my Android tablet but not on my Android phones with the StarBt Bluetooth adapter?
