PROBLEM WITH JULIAN DATE (= Julian Day Number)

Since the last update 5.3.4 sept 2017 there is something weird going on with the Julian Day Number (in the panel ‘Date and Time’ called Julian date, but that is something else). Until the update I could make a input of any Julian Day Number en got the corresponding date in gregorian and julian. I use this very often to search for a specific date in the past and this worked fine until the update. Since the update there is something very strange gong on when I want make a input of a Julian Day Number. When I make first a input of a Gregorian or Julian date then it good. But when I try a input of a Julian Day Number then the program fills itself a curious number in and I have no control about this. I have record this very strange effect in a .mov file.  Does anyone know what is going on here??

I'm not aware of anything that changed in the Juliane Date entry in the past release.  I think what you are seeing is that after a few seconds of no typing we parse the typing in the Julian Date field, standardize the format and update the Gregorian fields to match.  This happens for all the date field in that panel, but it may not work well for the JD because it is generally a much larger number to type.

If you type the number somewhere else and paste it into the field, does that always do what you expect?

I can look into making the work better but It probably won't happen immediately.

That parsing where you are talking about goes so fast that I don't get the time to fill it in with my keyboard, after the first two figures and less than a second de program fills the rest with numbers that I don't want. By the way there was a few weeks ago also an system-update from Apple on 20 september - version 11.0 install.

I have made een mov-file of my problem but don't know how to send it to you. Is there a way to do, so you can see what happens?

Pasting a number from elsewhere works good but takes to much time.

I don't need to see the video, I think I grasp what is happening.  It does seem like the parsing happens too soon.  I will take a peak at it when I get a chance but you will unfortunately have to live with the copy/paste for now.
