Why Does SkySafari 6 Pro Takes A Long Time To Open On MacOS, And Can It Be Faster? (Answer: The Time To Launch Originates With MacOS GateKeeper Scanning The App)

SkySafari 6 Pro takes very long before opening on Macos... Like more than a minute...with Big Sur but even before with previous versions...
on iMac 27in, 5K Retina, late 2014, 16Gb RAM.

My searches on the web did not give results.

Is this a know issue... Is there a way to solve the problem?

    Andre,

You might try reinstalling the app.  The slow launch is a result of macOS Gatekeeper scanning the app.

    Thanks!

Keiron -> Same issue here. 1minute 20 seconds for app to open and be usable. Don't think it has ANYTHING to do with Gatekeeper. If you downloaded this from the Apple Store (which I did), there should not be any issue with Gatekeeper which is only there to scan software from 3rd party developers who do not have their apps on the Apple Store or Apple approved. No, there is something else going on in the background. Either SkySafari is searching "the cloud" for resources, or the software is automatically updating asteroid/satellite info before it opens, or the software is slow because it is just bloated. This has been going on for a LONG TIME, even when I had SkySafari 5 Pro. Apparently though simulationcirriculum doesn't care....

Thanks for the feedback, Rob!  This issue is not going to be addressed for SS6.  We are now working on SS7.

You're feedback beta testing SS7 on macOS would be invaluable.

You say SS7. Is that SkySafari Pro 7 or StarryNight 7? If it is SkySafari Pro 7, sure I would be interested in beta testing. Tell me more...

Where do I get it? I see stuff for StarryNight but I do not use that.
