Does SkySafari 7 Pro Need Internet Access Operate My Telescope? (Answer: No, Internet Is Not Required)

Hi, I'm a Premium user & I have a question. I just bought a Celestron NexYZ DX Kit and will be using my iPhone 14 Pro Max to take photos & videos, so it will not be controlling my Celestron NexStar 8SE anymore. I will be using a Wi-Fi iPad to do that now, connected via a Celestron SkyPortal WiFi Module to align via a Celestron StarSense AutoAlign using a Celestron Aux Port Splitter. So, my question is, does your SkySafari 7 Pro iOS app need access to the Internet to work & operate my telescope? Because if so, I do not know how to do this now. Please help me. Thank you.

    Doren,

does your SkySafari 7 Pro iOS app need access to the Internet to work & operate my telescope?

No, SS7 does not require internet access to connect to and control your mount.

    Thanks!

Excellent, thanks! I apologize, I should have been more clear, that was only part of what I needed to know. Does SS7 need to access the Internet to use its database of stars, moons, etc...? Basically, can I do everything I would normally do, but without being connected to the Internet? Thanks!

No, provided you download all the data you need/want beforehand.
