If you receive an error message "After launching all packages some required prerequisites are still missing" or an error message "Set up has detected that you have a more functional product installed. Set up will now terminate" or any other issue concerning during the installation of prerequisites please read the following.
Prerequisites for Orion Special Edition include Quicktime, Adobe reader, and Visual Basic C++.
Note the prerequisite that fails to install. Which one is causing the difficulty?
If it is Quicktime do the following:
1. Quit the installer
2. Go to Control Panel---> Add/Remove Programs--->uninstall quicktime (and anything else that is "Apple")
3. Go to www.quicktime.com and download a new QT 7.6.8 (or whatever is the lastest).
4. Install QT onto your computer and retry Starry Night.
5. Retry the Starry Night installer
If it is Adobe Reader do the following:
1. Press the < Back button to return to prerequisites panel and uncheck the software in question (usually Adobe reader).
2. Click next and proceed and proceed with the installation.
If it is Visual Basic C++ do the following:
1. Quit the installer.
2. Download and install the software from this link:
Note: you will need administrator rights in order to install this software
3. Retry the Starry Night installer.
If the above installations do not resolve the issue please submit a ticket and ask for a downloadable version.

I am experiencing the same issue as James Mayer above. I have a copy of "Starry Night: Special Edition," loaded on Windows 7. The CD-ROM properly installs the main Starry Night software, and the pre-requisites tool properly searches for pre-requisite software; the only problem is that when it finds certain software is missing (multiple items, far more than the 3 you list above), it tries to install the from the CD-ROM itself (from D:/prerequisites -- and those files don't seem to be located on the CD-ROM. It's as if they were never were never written on the CD-ROM in the first place. Is there any place to download these pre-req files from the internet? Thanks and regards, Andrew Foster

I have the exact same problem as Andrew Foster.
The disk says version 6.4.3. Windows XP SP3.
There are a number of pre requisites. Some of them I can deselect, but not all. The text says I can click "Finish" at any time to skip the prerequisites and install the main software, but the "Finish" button is not active. When trying "Next", the installer complains, that it can't find the prerquisites at d:..., which is the DVD drive. The only actions possible are "Cancel" and "Back".
