I purchased an Orion telescope and got a CD that claims to be in the install CD for Starry Night Orion Special Edition. The CD says it's compatible with Mac OS X, I opened the CD in my Mac and all I see are Windows .exe or .msi file, none of which open in OS X. How do I install the software on my Mac?

Russell Yawn I bought an Orion telescope for my son's birthday and I too want to install the Starry Night Orion Special Edition on my Mac. Like the person above, the disk's jacket says it will install on a mac. However, the only files that are on the disk are Windows installation files.
Is there a Mac compatible version available?
Thanks

Keiron Smith Unfortunately, Orion duplicated a corrupt copy of Orion Starry Night, that is now being delivered with purchased telescopes. If you believe you received one of the corrupted discs please contact Orion technical support for assistance with your Starry Night Orion SE disc. Orion will provide a downloadable replacement.

Rick Lutz I too received an Orion 100mm telescope as a gift, with a CD that only contains the Microsoft Windows install files for Starry Night Orion Special Edition, nothing for Macintosh. This is not an "installation difficulty", as stated above, but rather an omission on the part of the manufacturer. I have tried using a PowerPC Mac running MacOS Tiger, as well as an Intel-based Mac running MacOS Lion, neither brings up a .dmg file that you would need to do an install. I will submit a support ticket as suggested above.

Justin Ryan Ditto. Orion SpaceProbe 130 came with the Starry Night Orion Special Edition disc, which specifically says it supports the Mac but only .msi and .exe files are on the disc. Where can I get the Macintosh version?

Russell Yawn I submitted a support ticket as suggested and within a short amount of time I received an email from Simulation Curriculum addressing my issue. I had to provide some basic information such as order number and shipping address and was provided a link to download the .dmg file.

Joseph Shreve Same thing here - received an Orion telescope with Starry Night disks that didn't have Mac files. Simulation Curriculum quickly addressed the issue and sent a download .dmg that solved the problem. I guess there were a number of disks issued that didn't have all the files on them.
