When launching Starry Night, I get the error message, "There was a problem opening the Preferences file. Try throwing it out and starting again." What does that mean, and how do I correct it?

Alfredo Searle I have the same problem.
Is there a solution ?

Keiron Smith Right-click in the Starry Night application and choose "Run as Admin".
-
Gerry Bond Keiron, I did and it is no solution. At the moment the programme is useless.
Win7. Just reinstalled, so don't ask me to do that.

Keiron Smith Hi Gerry, do you have V6 or V7?
-
Gerry Bond I have Pro 7 and solved it myself. The preferences file is in <<users:name:appdata:local:simulation curriculum:>>
Why was that so difficult to explain?
-
Keiron Smith Hi Gerry,
The solution for V7 is different from the solution for V6. This post is in the V6 forum. Thats why I asked what version you have. Great job, sleuthing out a solution on your own.
To anyone else reading this...
On Version 7 the solution is to rename the Simulation Curriculum folder found in: <<users:name:appdata:local:simulation curriculum:>>
