Installing Plug-ins

How do I install the telescope control plug-in.  The manual says "select install telescope support during the installation of Starry Night" but I did not get this option during installation.  I already have SN Pro 6 on the computer and it works fine with ASCOM control.  SN 7 says I need a plug-in.  Tried to reload software and restarted computer to no effect.

Thanks

Colin

    Hi Colin,

In SN7 what is the exact error message?  Or where exactly do you encounter difficulty during the set up process?

    Hi Keiron,

I get the error message in the telescope control window.  It simply says there are no plug-ins installed and all the telescope setup buttons are greyed out. The actual software installation didn't ask if telescope support was required as stated in the manual.

I have the same problem. I got SN enthusiast 7. I came with Telescope control. I have four telescopes and thought I would like to give Starry Night a try at controlling my Celestron SE. I get the same message. "Starry Night did not detect any valid telescope plugin in plugin folder"

Enthusiast 7 is not supposed to include telescope control.  Telescope control is not included as part of the Enthusiast 7 feature list.  As such, it is a non-intended, and non-supported feature; i.e. it is de facto broken by being there.

    Apologies for the misleading feature.

If you want telescope control functionality consider upgrading to SN7 Pro - and the telescope control feature will work, I promise.
