Trying to make way through the entire Turn Left at Orion. On page 197 Struve 2815 and Struve 2816 is mentioned. How come they are not present in Sky Safari 6?

So the stars are present, just not under those designations. We get our data on double stars from the Washington Double Star Catalog. It actually lists the AB pair of STF 2816 as BU 1143. If you locate this star in the professional SIMBAD database that is also what it is listed as, not STF 2816. So search for BU 1143.
The STF 2815 multiple star is listed in the WDS catalog as D 25 which is how you can find it in SkySafari. The "D" discovery code is for Ercole Dembowski.
As best I can tell, the main stars in these doubles are not referred to a STF stars in the professional catalogs. I realize this is all pretty confusing, but we do use the WDS as our primary source for double star designations.
Thanks for the clarification. I had the impression that the Struve catalog was more commonly used in that case than it really is. I guess it is no biggie now that I know how to find them.
