I just updated to SkySafari 6.10.
2011 iMac OS10.12.6
Very slow launch. several times longer than it was. Up to 30 seconds of bounce, bounce, bounce.
Also, About SkySafari is still buggy. You may get a split second flash and no information or you may get the 6.10 info.
Startup time is delayed by macOS gatekeeper. I also see that the About panel does not show on startup.

As Kerion says, the startup time is outside our control. Large apps take a long time to verify at launch. I wish we could do something about it.
I don't have any other report of problems with the About panel. Anyone else seeing this?
Keiron, the startup panel is not supposed to show at launch.
Bill, if the About panel is not supposed to show at launch then everything is ok. I was comparing SS6 Pro to SS5 5 Pro which does show the About panel on launch.
After the software is open, I can go to the SkySafari 6 Plus menu and it say's "About Sky Safari 6 Plus." and sometimes a little square shows up and does show it and then disappears in about 2 seconds. Other times I can do this and I see something flash by but nothing that can be read.
Also, I can do a Command-i on the app itself and that works fine.I'm just not used to these kinds of issues in OSX software. The iPhone app is extraordinary. I've not seen any issue with it.

Several of the UI issues are caused by the new Dark theme. This is an Apple supplied setting, but it doesn't appear to have been thoroughly vetted.
I still haven't been able to reproduce your problem but I will stare at the code to see if anything jumps out at me.
I'm having the same issues. Very slow startup on Mac Pro Catalina OS 10.15.5. I just uninstalled and downloaded again but same result. Sometimes it takes close to 1min to start, other times it won't start at all.
