I have 3 platforms of SS , so gets confusing. 

On OSX , how to update Comet and minor planet info?

  I found under " Solar System" in the toolbar.   Case closed .

  The data gets updated automatically every week, so you really don't need to do anything.  We do have a manual button you can click if you have to get the elements of a newly discovered comet or asteroid before heading out to observe.
