Can I Add A Custom Photorealistic Landscape To SkySafari 6 Pro? (Answer: Yes, Read On, And The How-To Is Also In The User Guide)

Can you create a custom landscape in SkySafari 6 Pro like you can do in Stellarium? As in my backyard? That is the last feature I still use in Stellarium. If I can do that in SkySafari, I would have no need for Stellarium anymore. I tried to create a custom PNG in the "Horizons" folder, but SkySafari would not open on my Mac Pro with OS X after doing so.

Yes - I presume so - it is a standard feature in 6 Plus. I also moved from Stellarium to SkySafari - so I could control my mount via the Synscan WiFi Adapter.

I have just amended my Stellarium Horizon to work with SkySafari using GIMP. Had to create a 4096x2048 (360 deg x 180 deg) canvas and make sure North was the left edge of my landscape by cutting and pasting sections of my current landscape - saved as PNG.

    Works fine.

Just following up, for SkySafari 6 Pro on macOS you can add your custom pano via the Settings > Horizon & Sky > +/-
