How To Connect To The SkyFi Network With Windows 10?

My skyfi (original) has stopped letting me connect to its network. The unit has been in storage for about 8-months and when I tried to connect to the network, my windows 10 machine showed "can't connect to this network."

I reset the skyfi (hold down reset and power up the unit) and was able to see the default network on my computer, but received the same message. When I tried to connect from my phone (android), i could not see the network SSID. I tried to reset a couple more times without success.

What am I missing? I realize the unit is now approximately 5-years old-(ish?) but it's not been dropped or damaged or used in a damp area. I wasn't able to find anything on the forums that helped (thought I could have missed it), any assistance would be appreciated!

    Not using Starry Night (I'd like to use SkySafari), that link had a bunch extra stuff in it.  Windows 10 was unable to connect adhoc to the SkyFi, even though the SSID was being broadcast.  While the device may be malfunctioning, it's still sending out a network... I just can't connect, which is frustrating.  I'm starting to think that even if I got a new unit, I'd have the same problem.  How is everyone else connecting to these devices?

    Is this viable?

    LX200-ACF --> RS232 Cable -->SkyFi -- (wireless)--> Skysafari (android)

    If so, I'm missing something or have a bad unit... and it starts with not being able to access the SkyFi.
