[Bug]* Why Are Location (My Sites) Names Not Shown In The Toolbar And What's Up With Elevations?

1) When I choose a location from My Sites, the site name is not shown. Instead, I see a parenthetical relative reference to somewhere quite a distance away. I thought previous versions showed the site name, which makes more sense. Showing "Joe Bob's Observatory" is meaningful; showing "57 km N of West Roosterpoot, United States" is useless and a waste of screen space.

2) Additionally, the elevation is reported as "xxx meters up". No, I'm not above that location. I'm at that location, on the ground. The "xxx meters up" is just annoying and distracting when selecting ground observations from a site.

3) If displaying relative location and altitude (i.e. when an unlisted location is chosen), a selection of units (mi/ft v. km/m) would be nice (this item is just a feature request).

Thanks! Tom

I am using the new version 8 plus pro.  I have the same problem as above. I had this problem in v7 also I try to enter a useful name and it adds comments that the site is near another site, or worse, my name  at 1500m above sea level.  I would like the altitude to be associated with my site, but I do not like having the site label changed (by Starry Night) to the name plus the altitude next to it.  This is just messy and makes it hard for me to select from a variety of sites that I use in the area.

    Hi Michael,

Please look in Observe > Sites > Edit, Delete, New

You can use this to make changes, create new sites.

We are aware of the issue where the created/chosen name is not listed in the main toolbar, and this will be fixed in the next update.  Also, the "XXX above sea level" will be addressed.

If you have found another different issue that was not discussed on the original post please be clear about the challenge you are encountering.

    Thanks!

All. This was a bug and should be fixed as of Starry Night version 8.0.2. Thanks for the reports.
