[Bug]* Problems In The Creation Of Observation Sessions In SN Pro 8 On Windows 10

When I create an observation session in SN Pro 8, I can not change the date and time of the end of the session.

The end of session date is anchored to the session start date.
Modified, in SN Pro 8, the location of other previous sessions (created in SkySafari) and in all of them, the end date was anchored to the start date of each of the sessions.
Now in all my sessions, date and time of the beginning of the session is equal to the date and time of the end of the session.

During today, I will modify an observation session in SkySafari Pro 6 and observe the result.
I will publish the result here as well.
I indicate this failure to prevent other users from having these problems.

The synchronization in the cloud is giving me headaches.

I reviewed the sessions in the LiveSky cloud and found that all the sessions (to which I only modified the location from SNPro8) had the same starting and ending times.

Additionally, I see 3 unnamed sessions that have the same date and time, which were created when I tried to change the end time of today's session to SN8Pro.

    The session window was freezing.

The synchronization in SN8Pro continues to have problems.

After more than 2 hours since the creation of the session, the sessions (although erroneous) that are in LiveSky, do not appear in SN8Pro.

Those sessions appear in SkySafari Pro 6.

I eliminated from SkySafari Pro 6, the wrong sessions.
I observed at the same time the screen of my PC with the browser window in LiveSky.
    The synchronization was fast.

I edited the "Eclipse total de Luna" session. I changed the start and end time of the session. I also changed the title of the session (I added "Edited Skysafari" to have a reference).
    All these changes synchronized perfectly.

Skysafary and LiveSky do not seem to have problems.

But SNPro8 does not update the session window properly.

It's scary to open the window in case you modify the dates and times of the sessions and observations.
The PC is directly connected by cable to the internet.
I should not have communication problems with SkyLiveFor this test I used Skysafari on a smartphone connected to the internet via Wifi and it worked perfectly.

I'm in orbit. I can only say:

    Houston we have a problem.

After this little joke, I greet you.

    Hi Esteban,

This is fixed in the 8.0.2 beta update:

-- Fixed Observing Session times. End times now correctly displayed and saved.[#9786](https://starrynight.unfuddle.com/a#/projects/7957/tickets/by_number/9786)
    [Forum Link](https://support.simulationcurriculum.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360025290613-Problems-in-the-creation-of-observation-sessions-in-SN-Pro-8-W10-?flash_digest=fe376b39667cb0343a65728f628118a51ceff0eb)
    [TEST PROCEDURE]
    1) Select an object and choose 'Create New Observation' from the context menu
    2) Choose a different end time for the observation.
    3) Click OK.
    4) Choose 'Observations (Logs)' from the 'Observe' menu.
    5) The Start and End dates should be correct for the new observation.
    6) Existing observations should now be editable and will correctly save start and end times.

    Thanks!

How can I test this correction in the 8.0.2 beta update?

Should I fill out a form to access the download of this version?

    Thank you.

I applied to be a beta tester and it was accepted.

I can not find access to beta 8.0.2 to check if it works correctly.

I only see a beta for version 7.

    A greeting.

We're looking at the beta server now.  We'll fix it so you can download the V8.  When you have access to V8 please download Pro Plus 8 beta - so you are running a different program from your release version, Pro 8.

    Thanks!

I understand, so the installation of version 8 Pro Plus, will be done in a different folder (of my version 8 Pro) and will not consider this installation as an update.

This way there is no modification in my v8 Pro, protecting from a problem in the beta.

I will do as you indicate.

    Thank you.

I do not know if I should open another thread about this.

I need to know the procedure to report problems with the installer (SN8 Beta).

The installer creates the installation folder, decompresses the files into a temporary folder and in the final section deletes several files, including the executable file.

I unzipped the installer into a non-temporary folder. I uninstalled SN8 (stable) and installed from the Setup file.

In this way, I was able to install and run SN8 Beta.

I want to force this problem again in the installation so I ask for instructions.

I want to record the progress window of the installation, as well as the folder where the installation files are saved.

Would this be useful for you? How do I share this information? Is there a record somewhere when an installer failure occurs?

    Thank you.

Does this include the incidents of the beta version?

This title of this discussion is "Problems In The Creation Of Observation Sessions In SN Pro 8 On Windows 10" and, as such, that is the very specific issue we should be discussing in this thread.  We want to know if we resolved/fixed the original issue.

If you want to raise any other different issue, anything to do with installers, or anything else not relevant to the original post, then it should go into a NEW post in the community forums.

    Thanks!
