You'd think this is a dumb question, right? But check this out:
My Stary Night "about Starry Night" menu choice says I have v 7.6.5.15.15 To me, that means "V7"
BUT:
My Mac OS "dock" icon clearly says I have v 8.
My "check for updates" returns a message saying I have the "most up to date version" but does not tell me what that version is. The way I define "most up to date" would indicate I have v 8 installed.
My "User's Guide" as part of my SN program says I have V 7.
Why is this so bloody difficult to figure out?
Can somebody help?

Keiron Smith Hi Ian,
Starry Night Enthusiast 7 and SkySafari 6 Pro are two different programs. If SkySafari 6 is damaged then delete it and download it again from the Mac App Store.
Please use the following link to retrieve your previous Starry Night download links: http://www.starrynight.com/retrieve/
Thanks!
