Sky BT pairs but doesn't connect

Recently purchased a SkyBT and while it can pair with any bluetooth device I try, it won't stay connected for more than a couple of seconds. Have tried with a Lenovo Chromebook 500e and a Moto G5 Plus running Android 8.1. Both devices pair and stay connected to other Bluetooth devices with no issues.

Quite frustrating.

  Hi David, 

  Please make sure you are using new batteries.

  The SkyBT will power down if there was been no activity for a minute or so.  When the disconnects happen,  is the phone sleeping?  And, is SkyBT powering off when this disconnect happens?
  
  FYI, ChromeOS is not an officially supported OS with SkyBT.

  The phone does not go to sleep nor does the Sky BT power down. Batteries are new. My phone Bluetooth pairs and connects to every other Bluetooth device I own without issue. It has to be with the Sky BT itself.

  I am using the original Nexstar 5, is this scope not compatible?

  If you have the original "silver" Celestron Nexstar then it will not work, that scope is not supported in SkySafari.  

  But, this has nothing to do with pairing SkyBT over bluetooth to your phone.
