On how many PCs can I install and run Starry Night for Windows?

I use several Windows PCs.  I have a four screen desktop i7 PC in my home office, a laptop beside the lounge sofa,  A dedicated i7 octa-core Dell for astronomy and a Surface Pro for travelling.

So, if I buy Starry Night, which I am on the verge of doing, can I install and run it on at least two of these PCs?  I really only need it on the Astronomy PC and the desktop and it is unlikely, but possible, that I shall run both at the same time.  The desktop would be used for research, learning and planning whilst the laptop would come with me to my dark sky site.

  What you propose will work

  Keep in mind that on windows the activation is by user account...for example, I install the program via admin account but only activate it in my primary user account on a given machine.

  If you are the only one using your SN license then I speculate SimC will not mind what you propose especially if you help the community with bug reports & insights.

  many of us keep prior versions e.g. 6 & 7 in addition to 8 since features vary somewhat & for troubleshooting since 8 still has a bunch of important bugs that need to be ironed out as you can see by reading the forum...

  Also, I suggest you check through the forums & feature requests & comment on items you like/support to encourage development.

  @Growflavor,  Thank you for your reply.  I think that I have two choices here. 

  1. buy the product and see what happens when I try to install it with the same license on the 2nd machine.

  2. Wait until a moderator here gives me a definitive answer on single license use.

  Obviously having a prior version would solve my problem and I read an older post where the user had both a Windows PC and a Mac.and that worked so maybe this will work.  It is, I feel not unreasonable use of a single license to have an office PC and a field laptop using the same license since I cannot be in two places at once.

  Okay.  I ordered Starry Night Pro 8 and now have it installed on both my target PCs.  It works.  Lovely.
