Search Textfield Non-Functional On SkySafari 6 Pro Night Mode In iOS 13 (Fixed In Update)

In night mode, SkySafari 6 Pro, iOS 13, I cannot enter text in the search box.  No keyboard appears.

Search works fine in non-night mode.

    And, just clarify, this issue only occurs when night vision is enabled?

    For me, the OP, yes.  It only happens in night mode.  The keyboard appears and search works when not in night mode.

    In night mode, I can tap all over the search text box and not get the keyboard to appear.  Interestingly, I can temporarily work around the night mode bug by entering a search term in non-night mode search, turning night mode back on, and then hitting the "x" to clear the old search term.  Then the keyboard appears in night mode for that one interaction.

    It will be interesting to see if tomorrow's release of iOS 13.1 has any effect.

    No joy with iOS 13.1.  I still don't get a keyboard for search in night mode.

    After updating my 5th gen iPad mini to today's release of iPadOS 13.1, I have lost the night mode search input capability there too.  Works fine in non-night mode.

    I just check search in night mode and yes no keyboard comes up. Turn night  mode off and the keyboard works. Running IOS 13.1 on an iPhone XR with SkySafari Pro 6.

    Same issue with Sky Safari too. So it is not just a Sky Safari 6 Pro issue.

    I just discovered that if you tap at just the right spot near the upper border of the search text box, and you're lucky, you can get a cursor and the keyboard to appear in night mode.  Still significantly harder than in non-night mode.  In any case, that's still not quite right.  Too much luck is involved.

    I just tested this on my Iphone 7 PLUS and had no issues doing numerous searches in night vision mode with the BETA version - 6.5.1.2

    I downloaded and used the Beta of Skysafari 6 pro ,   with Apple Ipad Pro, sw V 13.1.3, 

    Tested search function in NIGHT mode.

    No problems using keypad to type in objects to search for.

    I am running SkySafari 6 PRO, VER 6.5.0.1 on an iPad Mini 4 with iOS 13.1.3.  I am experiencing the same issue: no working Text Input Search capability in Night Mode.  The workaround of switching out of Night Mode is not really a useable technique because of the effect of the non-Night Mode on night vision and the potential disturbance to adjacent observers at star parties, which is where I was using SkySafari for the past 4 days.  It was a royal pain to tap continuously on the search field in an almost vain attempt to get it to work. 

    I consider the problem to be a significant flaw in the current rev of SkySafari and I really do not understand why the problem hasn't already been fixed, given that it was first reported 5 weeks ago and promised to be fixed asap.  At least, why hasn't a date been given of when it will be fixed or some statement about why it cannot be fixed? 

    Really guys, IMO, any observer actually using SkySafari 6 PRO at night in the field would recognize the importance of fixing the problem and updating the app quickly.  The last update to the app occurred 3 months ago. 

    Thanks for your time. Like the others, I look forward to the fix.  Would you please let us know when it will occur?

    Yesterday, I updated the OS on my iPad Mini 4 from iOS 13.1.3 to iOS 13.2. According to the update comments by Apple, IIRC, one of the fixes was to correct the lack of a Search text capability on some apps.

    I am happy to report that the Text Input Search field is now operational on my iPad Mini 4 when running SkySafari 6 PRO in Night Mode. Who exactly did what, I do not know, but it works!
