How To Connect Skysafari 6 Pro + Orion XX12G With Built-In WiFi? (Answer: Read On!)

Orion XX12g has a built in wifi , I could easily connect synscan app with the scope for the telescope control.

I recently purchased Skysafri 6 pro and i am unable to connect to the scope.

Displays error

IP : 192.168.4.0  " Skysafari Plus CAN make a wireless connection to the scope, but the scope is not responding."

IP : 192.169.4.1/2/3/4 "Sky Safari CAN'T make a wireless connection to the scope"

IP : 127.0.0.1 "Sky Safari CAN'T make a wireless connection to the scope"

Ports used are 11882 and 11880

Please do suggest a way to connect my scope

  Why Do I Get A Connection Failure Error Using SkySafari 6 Pro On iOS And The SkyWatcher SynScan WiFi Module? (Answer: Open SkySafari On The 1st iOS Device And Enter The IP Address Of The 2nd iOS Device, Not The IP Address Of The Mount - Enter Port 11882)

  Syed, 

  SkySafari does not natively support Orion built-in WiFi.

  Please contact Orion Support for configuration clarification - and update your post here once they give you a definitive solution.

  Maybe this:

  1. Turn on the SynScan handset

  2. in phone settings (Android) find the SynScan Wifi and connect to it

  3. Open SynScan app on phone, then CONNECT

  4. open SkySafari app on phone

  5. SkySafari settings:

  scope type: Orion SkyQuest xxg (I have an xx14g)

  mount type: Alt-Az GoTo

  connect via: WiFi, then add the following:

  IP: 127.0.0.1

  Port: 11882

  then: CONNECT

  Then try to align, etc etc

  So, did it work?? Please post
