In-App Purchase Fails With Error Message "Your Purchase Could Not Be Completed" Using SkySafari 6 Pro + MacOS 10.13.6 Macbook Pro 2016, valid AppleID And Password, Used To DL SS6 Just Before (Answer: We Will Fix This Issue, Please Be Patient, Thanks!)

inApp purchase of SS6 Pro fails. PGC database.

Successfully passes AppleID + password dialog. Passes "Do you want one copy of PGC database ?".

Fails with "Your purchase could not be completed".

SS6Pro, MacOS 10.13.6, Macbook Pro 2016, valid AppleID and password, used to DL SS6 just before, acct balance is sufficient.

Very odd.  Any thoughts ? Paypal ? Bitcoin ?

    Keiron, any update on what the issue is?  The same thing is happening to me today, at least mostly.  I purchased SkySafari 6 Pro on my iPhone and had no trouble doing the in-app purchases, a bar showed them download and then they were available.  On the Mac (running 10.15.4), however, the app purchase went fine, but the in-app purchases went badly and after attempting the purchase them, it repeatedly prompted me for my Apple ID password until I quit SkySafari, after a dozen prompts I was convinced it was not going to work.  Now, the "Interactive H-R Diagram" shows "Purchased" but the others still show the price, although I don't seem to have an option to turn the H-R diagram on like on iOS.  In my account with Apple, I can see both platform's apps and the in-app purchases for both platforms listed, so they did go through on Apple's side.  At this point in SkySafari, the other 3 in-app purchases have a button to purchase, when I hit them it asks to authorize, confirm, then says "Your transaction could not be completed." and "Restore Purchases" does nothing whatsoever.

    Similar situation here. SS6Pro installed 2 days ago. Purchased PGC extension database today, entered AppleID password and was then asked to confirm purchase which I did. Then received the 'Your purchase could not be completed' message. Like wise with GAIA extension database. AppleID had sufficient funds and in my case my AppleID has been debited for both purchases. Uninstalled SS6Pro and re-downloaded with no difference. 'Restore Purchases' on In-App Purchases panel appears to do nothing. MacbookPro mid-2012 and macOS Catalina 10.15.4. Fairly new mac user so was not sure if it I was the problem or not.

    Howdy Gary,

    Thanks for the confirm. I -just- received a confirm from Apple that my ID had been debited for PGC and GAIA both.

    I also uninstalled and re-installed with no success.

    I am thinking that SimCurric have a problem.  Apple's world is just passing on the funds.

    Hope they can fix soon.

    Same problem noted here.

    I purchased "Apollo Lunar Missions", "PGC Extensions Database", and "Interactive H-R Diagram" via Skysafari 6 Pro on a 2019 iMac running Mac OS X 10.14.6. I have been billed for these by Apple. None of the features are available. In fact, Skysafari still is offering them as in-app purchases. The "Restore Purchases" button does not seem to have any effect. Please help.

    Hi Tony, Gary, Leif, 

    We haven't updated SkySafari 6 on macOS recently.  The in-app purchases have been working perfectly up until now.  Since you have a wide range of macOS versions (10.13.6, 10.15.4, 10.14.6) this also not connected to a version of macOS. At this point, I'm inclined to believe the issue is with Apple somewhere.  So, hang in there.  We will try to reproduce and figure out what is happening.

    Same problem for me!  So, please give me 24-48 hours.  Either Apple will resolve this issue, or we will figure out what we have to do.

    I opened the TV app and went to the Account menu and selected "View My Account...", I think the Music app will let you do the same, it brings up the screen that iTunes used to have that has, about half way down, a Purchase History section, hit the "See All" next to it to view the history of purchases.  I don't know how to do the same on the web, so no URL (even though the "See All" looks like a link).

    same situation Here!
    I bought HR-Diagram, PGC and Gaia.
    Get the error "Your Purchase Could Not Be Completed". Credit card charged.

    Button HR-Diagram appears [Purchased].
    Button PGC Extension Database appears [$_____].
    Button GAIA Extension Database appears [$_____].

    Sad.

    I tried to "buy" the Apollo in-app yesterday or the day before. Got the the error "Your Purchase Could Not Be Completed". (Found this thread then, but could not log in due to cookie issue.) When I checked purchases in iTunes (yes, old OS, High Sierra) it showed the purchase as "pending". Now iTunes show the purchase completed. Started SS Pro today, nothing apparently different in Settings/In-App, still choice to by Apollo for $0. Tried to "buy" again. Got the the error "Your Purchase Could Not Be Completed". Tried "Restore Purchases", nothing seemed to happen. (Found the work around for the cookie issue elsewhere in this forum so I could log in.)

    Update: saw another thread saying that an update for this issue is available. Updated SS Pro, version is 6411. It seemed nothing different in Settings/In-app. Tried "Restore Purchases", nothing appeared to happen. Tried to buy again, and received:

    Your transaction could not be completed. Error was: "The operation couldn’t be completed. (SKErrorDomain error 0.)"

    Hi Tom,

    We discussed this extensively in a meeting today.  We will find or provide a solution that everyone will be happy with.  We need a couple more days.

    We really believe this issue is originating on Apple's side. 

    Please don't be anxious.  One way or another everyone will be winning in the end.

    Hello, we just released a new update for the MacOS SkySafari apps to address this issue.  Most of the in-apps are now included for free!  This includes:

    SkySafari Basic: 
    - Apollo missions data.
     
    SkySafari Plus:
    - Apollo missions data.
     
    SkySafari Pro:
    - Apollo missions data.
    - PGC Catalog
    - GAIA stars extended database.

    Pedro, I updated and I'm still getting the error...

    Your transaction could not be completed. Error was: "The operation couldn’t be completed. (SKErrorDomain error 0.)"

    The version installed is 6411

    Still not working for me either on my MacBook Pro with SS Pro 6.  From my end, there are still fees shown for PGC and GAIA, and I can’t still access them, even though I’ve already paid for them.

    How do I get the update to 6.4.5 please? There is no update available at the App store. My version is 6411.

    Hi Chris, do a search for "SkySafari" in the Mac App Store and you should see an Update button instead of an Open button for the app version you own.  Sometimes it takes a few hours for the update to propagate through the various country stores.

    Thank you for the new update. It is working partially, and here I explain why.

    Before the problem, I bought: 
    1- HR-Diagram, 2-PGC Extension Database, and 3-GAIA Extension Database
    Note: HR-Diagrams were working correctly.

    After I update skySafary 6 Pro to version 6.5.0 (6502) I have a weird situation:

    in-App Purchase Appears:
    Button HR-Diagram appears [$VALUE HERE]
    Button PGC Extension Database appears [Purchased].
    Button GAIA Extension Database appears [Purchased].

    PROBLEM #1 - HR-Diagrams disappear from my app, and previously this feature was working.
    PROBLEM #2 - Restore Purchase button do not work (I'm trying to recover HR-Diagrams]

    Please review this case.

    Is anyone else having an issue with H-R diagrams since the update to 6.5.0 on macOS?
