Does Enthusiast 8 Include A Binocular Improved DeepSky Database? (Answer: Read On!)

Starry Nights Enthusiast 8 has a key feature called "Binocular Improved Deepsky database". I am a new user and am struggling to find this in the menus and help. Can anyone help?

I am looking for a list of good binocular targets in SN and thought the above might be it.

This binocular database feature is mentioned twice under Enthusiast 8 version on this page...

    HI Jim,

Enthusiast 8 gets the complete same "Improved DeepSky Database" that is installed in with Pro 8.

A DeepSky Binocular Database is curated on object's magnitude and apparent FOV.

Generally, binoculars hit a mag limit before telescopes do.

With this info you can set magnitude limits yourself in Enthusiast 8 - click on "Deep Sky" menu to open the options.

I've looked up a binocular observing list, and I found this one from Sky&Telescope:

    https://skyandtelescope.org/observing/binocular-stargazing-catalog/

    https://skyandtelescope.org/wp-content/uploads/Binocular-Stargazing-Catalogue-2-1.pdf

You can see the list goes up in magnitude and maxes out at about 9.4

So, you could set the mag limits in the DeepSky database as I have show above, and then just search for observing lists as I have done here.

Plus, I'm also going to include a binocular deep sky database for you to add to Enthusiast 8.  See here:

I've added the observing list to the specified folder, but I don't know how to view it in SN. "Observing List" menu options are greyed out!

Sorry, Jim, I do not understand.  You added what observing list in what folder?  You have to include screenshots of file names & folder names, so I can follow what you are doing.

    Thanks!

I added the .ssd file mentioned in the link you gave me above to the folder mentioned in the link you gave me above. See image attached. I don't understand what it does or how to use it.
