How To Connect ASIair Pro + SkySafari 6 Pro Via Ethernet? Is It Possible? (User Needs ASIair Community Help)

I’m trying to get Sky Safari pro to work with asiair pro via Ethernet to my home router. Sky Safari and the asiair pro work fine when the asiair is in wireless mode, but Sky Safari does not connect to the cge mount through the asiair when the asiair is connecting to the home network via Ethernet. Can this work? I’m assuming it’s an ip settings kind of thing. I can’t find much info on how to do this on the net. Any suggestions to steal me in the right direction would be appreciated. The screen device is an iOS iPad Pro. All software is up to date on everything. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jim,

    1. What app and version?
    2. What iOS version?

There is a known issue with SkySafari failing to connect via access point mode on iOS 14.0.1

    Thanks!

It’s iOS 14.0.1, the app is the ASIaIr Pro app. All software is up to current versions.

‘I’m not even sure if what I’m trying to do is possible. Assuming I had the settings right, IP address etc, can Sky Safari 6 connect through my home wireless network to the ASIair which is on the network via an Ethernet connection? Or... does it have to be through the wireless router function of the ASIair?

SkySafari 6 Pro does not officially support ASIair.

On iOS 14.0.1, SkySafari currently has an issue connecting via home wireless networks, as per the community post link I shared.  I can't say that resolving that issue will allow you to connect to ASIair.

You need to ask ASIair Support for assistance.

    Thanks!

We aim to expand support with the development of SS7 - ETA 2021.

OK super thanks. I just talk to the folks at Starizona and they messed with it a while back but couldn’t get it to work either. So I don’t feel so bad ;) Do you have a good product and I look forward to version seven.

That’s “you do” have a good product, so much for auto correct. ;)
