How To Connect Mac To PC To SkyWatcher EQ6-R PRO Mount + SynScan WiFi? (Answer: This Is Not A Supported Configuration)

I have installed the Prolifics USB driver on my Mac and can connect with a USB cable through the hand controller to the mount using SkySafari 6 Pro.

The connection is SkyWatcher SynScan or SkyWatcher SynScanLink (one uses the new USB port and the other an existing port).

On a PC laptop, I have WiFi Scope installed to access the mount, which works and also provides access on port 4030.

The problem is that in SkySafari Telescope --> Settings... on the Mac connection to my laptop's IP address and port 4030 doesn't connect.

The Mac is indoors. The PC laptop and mount are also indoors (for now), but will later be taken outside.

    Simon,

SynScan_Link is not currently supported on macOS.  Only on iOS and Android.  You also need to use the SynScan App - not available for macOS.

    Thanks!

Yes, I have the driver to use Synscan on PC. On PC the driver is provided, on Mac I had to get and install it.

On Mac using SkyWatcher SynScan doesn't connect using port 4030 - the port that WiFi  Scope provides (the default port) on the PC.

    Simon,

I really don't understand your configuration.

    1. If you want help you need to provide complete information for everything is use, including photos of the hardware, and screenshots of all settings.
    2. Please also provide a link to SkyWatcher documentation that supports your current setup.  I would like to see SkyWatcher documents showing how to configure Mac to PC to SkyWatcher WiFi and without using the SkyScan iOS/Android app.

    Thanks!
