Is SkySafari 7 Available For ChromeOS? (Answer: SkySafari Web Via LiveSky.com Premium Is The Future For ChromeOS)

Hi guys

Firstly, I've been meaning to contactl you because I have a Chromebook and I love that Sky Safari works there too. It's proven to be a huge help when I'm observing as I can write my notes and have them instantly available on my other devices. Do you have any plans to have a version specifically for the Chrome OS?

Secondly, and arguably more importantly LOL, when will SkySafari 7 be available for Android devices? I can't wait to see it.

Clear skies,

Richard J Bartlett

I can answer the second question:

Android ETA is March/April of 2022.

The answer to your first question has always been no, but could change?

    Richard,

We presently offer SkySafari Web via LiveSky.com Premium.

This is a browser-based version of SkySafari.  And, it is the future of anything ChromeOS related.

    Thanks!

    Thanks guys

I'll hold out for the update, as I can use it anywhere without needing an internet connection :-)

Love the app - can't wait for v7!

SkySafari Web is a much more limited version at this time.  There is no telescope control yet.

Just saying, this is where we will put our resources in the future.

But, you'll never get far without the net ;)

Very true - which is exactly why I like my apps to work offline :-)

(It's actually a big plus for me. We're susceptible to high winds here and the power can go out. I can still potentially do my work through my cell, but I'd much rather use a locally installed app than something web-based any day.)
