I can't open SkySafari on my android tablet Samsung S7+ anymore. An advertisement pops up in the background for SkySafari 7 for iOS. There is an X symbol in the upper right corner and it won't let me close it. In the foreground, the app is stuck on this box that says "14 data files downloading..." despite my tablet being connected to the internet just fine, and all other apps can access the internet, this box is stuck on 0% downloaded. I tried force closing the app, I also tried deleting the data and cache, and re-opening the app, and it still down this. So now SkySafari is unusable on my tablet. It works fine on my android phone Samsung S21 Ultra. One thing that baffles me, is why on earth does an advertisement for an iOS advertisement popup on an android phone/tablet, especially when there is no version available for android? I am also using the PAID version SkySafari Pro, so I thought I would not get repeated popup ads for version 7 iOS ??? What's the deal here?

If the 0% download notification appears please tap the back button until you exit the app, and then start it again.
Also, try disabling notifications for SS6.
I will discuss the SS7 iOS promo on Android apps with the marketing department.

If you're still encountering an issue we implemented a fix this morning.
Hold down the SS6 app icon > App Info > Notifications > Turn off, then turn on notifications.
That should fix it.

John Sillasen Keiron, I did turn off notifications and back on..killed the download files problem until turn next day when it came back with 14 files downloading again. I've had to turn off notifications and leave them off for now.

John Sillasen Alas, it has not. Just started it up - no notification number on the icon and 14 data files downloading is being displayed. No menus work other than hitting back where it offers me to Exit or Cancel.

Ron Burrows I found this thread and it seems I have the same issue with downloading the data files. I have tried turning the Notification for SS6 off but still cannot download the data files. I've reinstalled the app, turned off the Notification and still having no luck.

Ron Burrows Uninstalled previous version, restarted phone, installed Beat version. Opened Skysafari, download started at 14 data files and made it to "12 data files downloading" and stuck in loop. Says "Retrying SkyInfo after trans..." then goes back to "12 data files downloading".

Ron Burrows Hit back and Exited app. restarted app and download continued with 12 data files to "8 data files downloading" and now hung.

Ron Burrows Confirmed with Application Info screen version 6.8.6.14. Through repeated closing and opening of SS6 the download continued, looping at a few more points, it finally finished and appears to be working.
