At initial download and each time I restore purchase of GAIA database, download fails at 99% and I receive an error message to that effect. I have over 10GB free on my iPad (2019). I have tried reinstalling app several times with no change. PGC galaxy database downloads fine every time. I am using iOS 15 on a 2019 iPad.

Joseph J Shuster I have the same thing on my iPad Pro. Plenty of space on the tablet. But a failure at 99% with no explanation.
I wondered if having SkySafari 6 Pro and SkySafari 7 Pro simultaneously installed is the problem.
Unfortunately, I can't experiment much: My rural internet service has very limited monthly data quotas.

Keiron Smith Mark, Joseph,
- What app and version are you running?
- What version of iOS?
- What iOS device specifically?
Thanks!
-
Joseph J Shuster Thanks for the reply.
I'm running SS 7 Pro 7.0.2 (1031). The version information was tricky to find.
My iPad Pro is running iOS (or is it iPadOS?) 15.2. But I think my attempts (in early December) to download were before a recent update. I was probably running 15.1.
The tablet is an "iPad Pro (11-inch) (2nd generation)" ... quoted from the About page. Model is MXDE2LL/A.
Capacity if 512gb, 429gb available.
LMK if you need other info.Joe

Mark Epstein I am running SkySafari 7 Pro 7.02.
I am using iOS 15.1 on a 7th generation 10.2" iPad (MW742LL/A). Storage capacity is 32 GB, 18 GB of which is used.
I have attempted to download the database several times over the past few days, with the same result.

Alter Graubart Same here on iPhone 7, iOS 15.2, latest SkySafari Pro 7.0.2 (1031), 60GB free memory, no prior version of SkySafari installed.
And same on my iPad with iPadOS 15.2, iPad Pro

Joseph J Shuster I have an interesting (?) update to this saga.
On 1/4, I had the chance to try one more time to download GAIA to SS 7 (without burning through my slow, limited data). I watched the progress for a while and realized I had never seen the actual failure point "live". So I started a screen recording (iPad Pro) the download at the 78% point.
In the screen capture, just a few seconds after starting (but before reaching 80%) the progress bar jumps to 99.0% (sic). Then nothing happens for 20+ seconds. Finally a sad message box reports the download failed. I jumped the iPad to show my free storage: 81.8 gb out of 512 gb used.I can post the video (it's 45mb) or screen shots. But the narrative should be enough, no?
I didn't have time to reproduce the timing and details (again). But others who have this problem might want to monitor their (ultimately failing) downloads to see if there's the 80%-to-99.0% jump and the long pause before the message box.
I'm still eager to get the GAIA download. I hope this helps.

Alter Graubart Meanwhile I could successfully download it on my iPad; on iOS still fails; I can confirm what Joe is seeing. In addition SS7 restarts and starts the download again.
As this is now an issue for quire a while, it would be nice to get some feedback from the dev(s).
-
Keiron Smith Thanks for all this great feedback - and your patience at this time.
Developer are working on the issue, we will comment here when we have more to say, or a beta to test.
-
hendrikspoelstra I also cannot download the GAIA database in SkySafari7 Pro.
iPhone XR
iOS 15.2
55GB Free memoryWhen starting the download almost immediately the following error message appears:
The operation couldn’t be completed.
(SKErrorDomain error 0.): (null) -
Mark Epstein The behavior that Joe describes is exactly my experience on my iPad.
-
Joseph J Shuster It's been a month since this GAIA download failure was multiply reported and almost 3 weeks since the last SC reply.
Is anything being done to fix this problem?

-
Keiron Smith Mark Epstein, apologies, I see you did, thanks!
-
Keiron Smith When testing the beta please do the following:
Please do the following:
- Delete SS7.
- Reinstall SS7 (beta).
- SS7 > IAPs > please attach a screenshot of what you see BEFORE restoring the purchases.
- Choose Restore Purchase.
- Attach screenshots of any error messages
- SS7 > IAPs > please attach a screenshot of what you see AFTER restoring the purchases.
If you can make a screen recording of steps 3-6 that would be helpful too.
Send to ksmith@simcur.com
Thanks!

Keiron Smith Alter Graubart reports success installing the IAPs with the latest beta!
If your experience is different, if you fail to install the IAPs (using the latest beta) please attach screenshots (with step-by-step comments) that show what happens for you.
### Alter's SS7 Beta IAPs Report ###
1. After clicking on "Restore Purchases" only Apollo Missions are downloaded and installed:
2. Clicking on "Restore Purchases" again, does nothing, which IMHO is OK, as the others are not "purchased"
3. Clicking on each item one by one: asks me to login with my Apple-ID:
4. Same happens when "purchasing" GAIA DB and last screenshot looks like this:So, the problem seems to be solved!

Mauro Da Lio I have the same issue on a new iPhone SE 3 (2022). I had no trouble restoring purchases on an older iPhone 6s and a recent iPad Pro, but it does not work on the new iPhone. I tried to authenticate both with iCloud password and fingerprint. None works. The download process get stuck and 0.x %.
Rhe screen shot shows the error I get (sometimes I get the message (SKErrorDomain2) .:(null), sometimes the download simply gets stuck as in the other photo).
-
Mauro Da Lio I have installed SkySafari Pro 6 and it works (loads purchased items successfully). I suppose the issue might be with SkySafary version 7.1.3 (maybe the Italian localization). In the previous devices, when I successfully restored GAIA etc, the version was 7.0.3.

Keiron Smith Mauro,
Your comments have been forwarded to the development team.
Thanks!

Lee Maher Hi All,
I've just purchased SS Pro v7 after using SS Pro v6 for the past 4 years. I was quite excited to learn of the free downloads (via the promotional video). Sadly, I have not been able to download them. After going through the process of clicking on Free Purchase and pressing the Apple button press to accept and begin the download, the screen displays a progress bar against the chosen app, but sadly the initial % value that it shows, remains that way forever! I am running 7.1.3 on an iPhone X running iOS 15.6.1. It also exhibits the same behaviour on my iPad Pro. Has this bug (as I've discovered from this forum) been fixed in the eyes of the developers yet? Happy to provide screenshots if required.
Regards, Lee

Barry Yes, you can add me to the list of failed ‘add-in’ people.
I was using SS6 Pro but took advantage of the reduced price SS7 Pro promotion which included the free add-ins. My downloads freeze just after they start as in the attached picture. I’m not sure how long the downloads take but 1/2 hour without it moving is a reallllllly slow download on my broadband.
I’m using an iPad Air 5th Generation (A2588) with 256GB of memory with 214GB free! Running on IOS version 15.7
-
Barry If anyone is monitoring this thread, can I ask if there is any progress with getting these add-ins to download? I keep clicking “Restore Purchases” and they keep freezing as soon as they start downloading.
My details are in the previous post.
-
Barry Doesn’t seem as though this thread IS being monitored? If it is, any idea when we might get a solution to this problem?
-
Keiron Smith Barry,
This issue is slated for a fix in version 7.2.
Thanks for your patience.
-
Barry Many thanks for the update Keiron

Synomenon Is there a reason this issue seems to pop up after various releases?
I had this issue awhile ago and you guys mentioned then that it wood be fixed in an upcoming update (and it was), but now it's happening again on a freshly restored iPad Mini 6 on iOS 16.1.
