    Arrow,

Sometimes when this happens it is because there is another SN8 window (options) open in the background, behind the main window.  Try minimizing the app then check the options.  Sometimes restarting the app will fix it.  If the app crashed, sometimes there can be a crash report in the background, waiting for a prompt to "send to developers" - look in Windows tab to see if any crash report is open.

    Hi Keiron,

I am having the same problem as Wang. Using SN8 Celestron SE version, MacOS 10.14. Restarted, rebooted, looked for open windows or crash report windows... nothing helped. Seems like only the constellation display is affected. Any other ideas? Reinstall?

Update: Just found "constellations" under "Explore Starry Night" in the right side bar. That will take me to the "Display options" in the side bar, where I can turn on the constellation stick figures, etc. BUT, I still can't use the greyed out constellation options under the "options" menu in the main menu bar (pictured by Wang above). Very strange...

    Michael Wolf,

    Excellent alternative solution!

    Please try reinstalling.

    Thanks!

Tried reinstalling. No change. I bought Starry Night Pro Plus 8, and the constellation option menu there is working and not greyed out, so it's no longer my problem…

    Best regards
