Is Maxim DL Supposed To Work With Starry Night Pro Plus 8? (Answer: Yes, But Maxim DL Must Be Purchased Separately)

Hello. Tonight I bought Starry Night Pro Plus. I really love the allsky image. It's gorgeous.

But when I try to use Maxim DL, I can't sort it out.

I've connected to my mount through ASCOM and it's good. Starry Night Pro Plus connects to my telescope. I page-down in the Telescope Control Pane and click "Settings" and I get this error: "Maxim.CreateDispatch: Could not connect to Maxim DL." Please... What might I be doing wrong?

Thank you!!!

Downloaded the trial of Maxim DL. Installed it. I still get the error. I must be doing something wrong.

Rats. I've done all those things. I'll have to make a video so you can see. In my case, it's just not working - even after installing Maxim DL from their site. Should the plug-in work without installing a paid version of Maxim DL?

    As I understand it...

"The integration between Starry Night and MaxIm DL is limited to passing images from MaxIm to Starry Night via Import Image."

So, looks like you need to have Maxim DL working in order for the plugin to activate.

Got it. OK - so it's not that Maxim DL comes with Pro Plus - it's that a plug-in comes with Pro-Plus to pass images to Maxim DL. Got it. OK - I think I'll just delete my trial install. I can't imagine using Maxim DL over and above Sharpcap. Bummer. I was hoping it would simplify posting the image to the sky. It took me quite a bit of work to align my last imported image to the Starry Night sky canvas. But wow - once I completed it, it was super-fun to have it there.

    Thanks again, Keiron.
