SkySafari 7 Pro 7.0.3 (1039) FOV Field Rotation Angle Now Available For Rectangular FOVs

SkySafari 7.0.3 (1039) FOV Field Rotation Angle appears to be missing from the UI - but does show the new Display Name field introduced in build 1038/1039.

Additional testing shows that Field Rotation Angle IS available 7.0.3 (1039) for Rectangular FOVs.  It is perhaps logical that the Field Rotation Angle will not be visible in the UI for circular FOVs (noting that the field was visible - but greyed-out in previous builds).

I hope this provides useful clarity for others testing the 7.0.3 (1039) beta release.

I'm using 7.0.2 and the FOV rotation is not working correctly for either Alt/Az or Equitorial. In Alt/Az 0˚ should always point to the zenith. In Equitorial, 0˚ should always point to the celestial North Pole. Neither appears to be working correctly. And I'm having a hard time finding the option to switch from Alt/Az to EQ mode.

I can’t replicate your problem.  Testing with both 7.0.2 (1031) and 7.0.3 (1041) with iPad, for me the reticule crosshairs and cardinal points appear correctly aligned in Alt/Az and Equatorial views.

To change views, tap the coordinates box, then select from Local (i.e., Alt/Az), Equatorial, Ecliptic or Galactic.

For Alt/Az, the FOV reticule remains aligned Zenith-Nadir/local horizon.  For Equatorial, the FOV reticule is aligned NCP-SCP/Celestial Equator.
