[UX Issue]* Add User Image Fails To Download DSS (Or Other) Images (Answer: Fixed!)

Hi all!

Recently I have learnt the way to download DSS pictures through 'Add User Image...' .However after I set the image dimensions and select 'DSS' in the 'From SkyView' dropdown menu, I get an error message stating that the image download failed. I tried to go to another part of the sky, selecting smaller field, and so on. To my knowledge DSS covers all the sky, so I don't know what happened.

It's strange that the 'From SkyView' button is slightly darker, maybe it has something to do with this issue. I have no firewall, my network connection is in perfect condition.

Can you give me any advice how to resolve this issue?

    We will have the development team review this issue for the next SN app update.

    Unfortunately, this does not appear to be working at this time.

    It has been a year.  This feature would be very useful for planning image acquisitions, and it still appears to be broken.  Any updates?

    I am also unable to download any DSS images with Starry Night SkyView.  I followed the steps outlined on page 61 of the user manual exactly, using a 20-arcminute by 20-arcminute field of view of the Horsehead Nebula, but get the following error message on Starry Night 8 Pro Plus for Microsoft Windows 11:

    "SkyView image download failed.  It is likely that the selected survey doesn't have any images for the region you've chosen.  Please select another survey or modify the region."

    If this feature is no longer available, it should be removed from the user menu with the next update.  However, the DSS images are displaying on Stellarium, so it should also work for Starry Night.  What survey from Starry Night SkyView is most similar to DSS to use as an alternate?

    I tried several other surveys but they all produce the same error message.  Is this feature no longer functional for any surveys??

    We believe the DSS image download issue has been resolved.

    Please test and let us know here.

    Note, even if you don't see an image in the Add Image panel, choose DSS and save anyways.
