Why does SS 6 Pro want to update files on one device when SS 7 Pro purchased for another device?

I have SS 6 Pro running on an Android 5 tablet. I just purchased SS 7 Pro for my Android 10 phone. Suddenly, SS 6 Pro wants to update the data files and will not work untill that is done. The file size indicated looks to be the same as the file size for SS Pro 7. Why do I have to update the data files for SS 6 Pro? Will I wreck the SS 6 Pro install if I update the data files?

    Luca,

SS6 and SS7 are developed independently.  There is no correlation between the purchase of SS7 and the update for SS6.

Please attach a photo of the SS6 update that is being requested.

We can then better tell you what is happening.

    Thanks!

    Keiron,

Thanks for the clarification. Attached are two screenshots: one when wifi is off and one when wifi is on. Thanks for looking into this.

I went ahead and downloaded the 1898MB of additional files. Now SS 6 Pro is working fine. I am not sure why this was necessary.

The installation is broken into 2 parts, the initial framework, followed by at the data.  SS6 Pro has the biggest databases on mobile and there it is.

    Thanks!

Thanks - I know SS installation is in two parts. I raised this question because I have had SS 6 Pro running on the Android 5 tablet since it was released. Occasionally there have been updates posted on Google Play but as far as I can recall, I have to invoke an update on Google Play, I don't recall SS 6 Pro ever forcing it. It was a weird coincidence that when I bought SS 7 Pro for a different Android device (but same Google account) that SS 6 Pro refused to work until I downloaded the data. It's working fine now, so chalk it up to cosmic rays!
