How Come SS7 Pro + SkyFi 3 + Celestron 8 SE Fails To Connect? (Answer: Get A Data Transmitting USB Cable - Read On!)

There was an old set of postings on this issue, but no final solution given.

I am using a Celestron NexStar 8se, purchased May 2022. SkySafari 7 pro, Apple iOS 15.6.1, preset Celestron NexStar GPS/SLT/SE, new USB cable, alignment with hand set successful (verified with multiple go-tos. System powers on, wi-fi connection verified. This is the error message

Connection Failure SkySafari Pro can make a wireless connection to the scope, but the scope is not responding. Make sure the scope is powered on an connection correctly. Also make sure you selected the correct scope type.

Is there a resolution to this problem?

    James,

Likely, the issue here is with your USB-A-to-USB-Mini cable.  It must be able to transmit data.  Not all cables are made equal.

    Thanks!

"SkySafari 7 Pro can make a wireless network connection to skyFi, but the scope is not responding. Make sure it is connected and powered on. Also check that your scope type is correct."
