If you would like to download all available data for Starry Night Pro Plus 7 or Pro 7, and install it in one go, here are the respective links.
Pro Plus 7: http://stars.starrynight.com/offline/Starry%20Night%20Pro%20Plus%207%20Data%20Package.exe
You can also install all the data via the normal SN7 installer, choosing "Complete" installation.
This is very useful for archival purposes...or if you need to completely reinstall Pro Plus or Pro Plus 7 but do not happen to have internet access at the time of installation. Thank you for making this available.
Hi i downloaded your link pro plus but i do not know where it is installed.
Hi Morteza,
Please look in your downloads folder. Run the StarryNightDataPackade.exe file. It will install.
Any idea if this is going to be coming to the Mac/OSX platform. In the field (such as at the Texas Star Party) the lack of internet access made it tough to use the program.
Hi Jkhalaf,

Hello Keiron,
This is for the planetary and moon map data, but not the star data, correct?
Joe
Correct, Joe! Stars are streamed.
Correct, Joe! Stars are streamed.
OK, thanks. Yes, unfortunately, the stars database is what I needed. It was hard to work on some of my observing lists while the image I was trying to comparing it with was fuzzy/pixelated. The wifi connection out at TSP was non-existent at night, so I really needed to operate offline.
Hi Joe,
From the User Guide:
The star database in Starry Night is actually a compilation of databases: Starry Night Enthusiast uses the Hipparcos catalog, and the Tycho-2 catalog, and Starry Night Pro and Pro Plus also include the USNO-A2 catalog.
The Hipparcos and Tycho-2 catalogs come from a European Space Agency project to determine the distance to our nearest stars. The Hipparcos catalog has about 100,000 stars and the Tycho-2 catalog has about two million. Find out more about these catalogs on their of cial web page:
http://astro.estec.esa.nl/SA-general/Projects/ Hipparcos/hipparcos.html
Starry Night Pro and Pro Plus use the USNO-A2 star database for dim stars not included in the Hipparcos or Tycho catalogs.
The entire USNO-A2 star database contains 500 million stars down to magnitude 21! This database is far too large to t on a CD or DVD, so Starry Night allows you to download portions of this database from the Internet. See “Adding Objects 3 (Stars)” on page 130 for more information.
HI
Dear Keiron Smith,
I downloaded StarryNightDataPackade.exe and installed it. It downloaded all the data. How should I use the data?
Hi Morteza,
I don't understand the question. Please tell me why you installed the offline data. Thanks!
Jandu,
Do you have Starry Night Pro Plus 7 or Starry Night Pro 7 installed?
Hey Keiron-- Is it possible to store the additional stars/images on a separate drive other than where the application is installed and point to it, as opposed to using up a good amount of space on my SSD? Thanks!
Hi Chris,
There are 5 components included in Pro Plus: Starry Night Main App, Basic All Sky Image Data, Panoramas, Planet Images, and Additional All Sky Image Data.
1. Starry Night Main App and Basic All Sky Image Data
These components are required.
Users cannot unselect these components, they must be installed.
Users CAN change the installation path of these components.
2. Panoramas, Planet Images, and Additional All Sky Image Data
These components are optional.
Users can choose not to install these components.
Users CANNOT change the installation path of these components, they can only be installed to the default path.
3. About the All Sky CCD:
The basic All Sky Image Data includes low resolution, wide angle FOV image (tiles) data (i.e. the 180 degree view of the night sky using the All Sky CCD).
The additional All Sky Image Data includes high resolution, narrow FOV image (tiles) data (i.e. what you see if you zoom in tight on M42) .

Hi Jun85,
Please submit a ticket. If you will pay we will ship it. Thanks.
Lets pretend for a moment that I live in the 21st century and have access at home to a gigabit internet connection like Google Fiber for example. And lets say I have a 2TB SSD hard disk drive that I want to use for astronomy. Is there available 100% of all data that SN7PPlus can make use of as a download that I can install and NEVER have to stream a single thing from anywhere?
I just re-installed the software. I chose to install everything as "this entire feature installed on HDD" and I also just to be safe, downloaded the database from the link above. I then updated everything from the help menu. I am STILL seeing "streaming 17 files" etc.. when I zoom in to areas of the sky. While this is fine if I am sitting at home with my fast internet I also have a club site with an observatory that does NOT have internet connection. I want to be able to enjoy all the beauty and glory of SN7PP while completely unplugged. Can you guys make this happen for us? Oh and while you are at it, I would be so grateful if you could allow us to install all of this on another drive.
In short, we no longer live in the 90's. We are not downloading on 56K modems through America Online dialup. We no longer have massive 100MB hard drives. Lets step up our game here shall we?
Hi Keiron I just downloaded this hoping the program will update but I'm still stuck on 7.0.5 on my new desktop.
Hi Moody,
I have forwarded your download links to your @msn.com email address. Please delete the current and version, download and install again. That will get you the latest.
Thanks!
Thanks Keiron! Should I also delete the data files that I downloaded from the other thread or can I keep those? Also is this just one download and that's it or do I have to update it or install additional files?
You can keep the data files. Just replace the default app.
Thanks :) and it's just the one download?
I forgot to ask should I install a copy of this on a flash drive if I need it in the future or just save the link?
Both will work.
Keiron it wont let me uninstall the old one what shall I do? The add/remove program has been just sitting there for hours saying it is uninstalling but the process never completes. I am thinking of just installing from the link on my main drive (I installed from the DVD to a secondary drive.)
It wont let me install while the other one is still there Keiron and I can't uninstall it with add/remove programs so I'm just going to delete the entire folder and try to install the new one again.
After doing all that it still wont work, also I got this message https://support.simulationcurriculum.com/hc/en-us/articles/231533127
