Question: I recently bought Sky Safari 5 Plus, it's really worth its money. I use it with my iPad (Version 9.2.1 (13D15)). 

However if I select the compass mode it jumps to the vicinity of the nadir point and stays there.
I have no problems with the compass mode using SkySafari 4 Plus.

What iOS device are you running on? Do you have a case or cover that is magnetic? If so, do you still see this with the cover removed.

Also, for the compass to function properly make sure Location Services is ON in the iOS Privacy settings. On that same screen, school to the bottom and select "System Services". I believe you need to have "Compass Calibration" ON in that screen. Possibly "Motion Calibration and Distance" as well.
