Hi,

I just updated to SkySafari 5 and started getting a lot of different notifications about satellites and planets. Is there a way to filter what kind of notification I want to get?

Are there any plans on adding notifications for meteor showers, comet sighting or that kind of stuff? That would be really useful.

Right now we only have notifications about

1. Planet risings
2. Passes of three satellites (ISS, HST and Tiangong)
3. Iridium flares

You can enable/disable the planet risings as a group and the satellite notifications as a group at the bottom of the Appearance & Behavior settings. You can also set a Do Not Disturb period for both.

I don't think we will be having these types of automatic notifications for meteor showers and comets but we do hope to send more push notification to alert people to those.

1. Tap the Settings button in the toolbar. 

2. Tap the Appearance & Behavior entry 

3. Scroll to the bottom of that page, there is a section on Notifications.
