SkySafari | iAstroHub connection failure

    Hi,

I'm trying to use a wifi adapter to connect to my mount (via the HC) and I'm getting the following error :

    "Connection Failure
Skysafari Pro can make a wireless network connection to the scope, but the scope is not responding. Make sure it is connected and powered on. Also check that your scope type is correct."

Attached is the log file from my latest try with SkySafari 5 Pro.

I also tried the Luminos app to connect to the wifi device and control the mount and it works fine. I have not been able to make it work using SkySafari 4 Pro, SkySafari Pro 5 nor SkySafari 1.8 Plus for Mac.

I know all the cable I'm using work fine since I can control the mount using Skysafari 1.8 for Mac through a cabled connection.

    Thanks in advance,

    Manuel

    Hi Manuel,

    1. What scope/mount are you using?
    2. What scope type are you selecting in the Scope Type options?
    3. Did you start-align the scope using the hand controller before connecting to SkySafari?
    4. What wifi adapter are you using?

    Thanks!

    Ticket update:

    Hi Keiron,

    1. Celestron AVX.
    2. Equatorial GOTO.
    3. Yes, it was aligned previously using the HC.
    4. iAstroHub using a CX-919 android device.

    Hope this helps,

    Manuel

    Keiron Smith replies:

    Hi Manuel,

It is not clear from the log file that there was any communication at all. SkySafari did not get a valid version number back and then the mount stopped responding.

If iAstroHub really works with Luminous, then we can only guess that iAstroHub doesn't like something we are sending. Since we only send #V to request the version, maybe iAstroHub chokes on that. Perhaps Luminous doesn't ask for the version.

Sorry, there is not much we can do. We don't claim support for other Wi-Fi boxes. And we can't be responsible for their quirks, valid or not.
