It would be nice if Tonight's Best had the option to filter or at least sort by which direction the object is visible in. For example, I only have a clear view of the west, so being able to easily find the objects available in the W/NW/SW/overhead skies would be really nice.

All lists can be sorted based upon various object properties. You can sort by azimuth or altitude.

Tap the Settings entry at the top of the list.
