To install the extra data disks you need to use both disks together, and they both need to be used in the drive (the first looks for the second - you have to swap them).
Install the discs once, to one local computer, and then just push the newly created CacheData directory to all of the machines on the network.
On Windows XP this directory lives in:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Simulation Curriculum\The Layered Earth\CacheData
On Windows 7 this directory lives in:
C:\ProgramData\Simulation Curriculum\The Layered Earth\CacheData
On Windows 7 this directory lives in:
C:\ProgramData\Simulation Curriculum\The Layered Earth\CacheData
On Mac OSX this directory lives in:
/Library/Application Support/Simulation Curriculum/The Layered Earth/CacheData
