Celestron Wi-Fi Help
SkySafari controls compatible Celestron Wi-Fi telescopes. Compatible models include NexStar Evolution models with built-in Wi-Fi, and others that use Celestron's SkyPortal Wi-Fi accessory.
You must connect to your telescope's Wi-Fi network before you can access these settings.
Utilities
- Battery Status (NexStar Evolution only) - Displays battery voltage and status.
- Tray Lighting (NexStar Evolution only) - Adjusts LED brightness of accessory tray light.
- Logo Lighting (NexStar Evolution only) - Adjusts LED brightness of Celestron power logo.
Tracking Rate
- Sidereal - Default rate for stars and deep space objects.
- Lunar - For tracking the Moon.
- Solar - For tracking the Sun with proper filter.
- Off - Turns tracking off.
Alignment
- SkyAlign (Altazimuth mounts) - Center 3 bright stars.
- Manual Align (Altazimuth mounts) - Identify and center 3 named stars.
- EQ Align (EQ mounts) - Center 4 stars, 2 on each side of meridian.
- StarSense Auto (with StarSense camera) - Automatic alignment.
- StarSense Manual (with StarSense) - Manual 3 or 4 point alignment.
Slew Limits
Set maximum/minimum altitude limits to prevent striking the mount or to avoid obstructed horizons.
Anti-Backlash
Compensates for gear backlash by inputting a value which quickly rewinds the motors. Values 0-99 for Altitude and Azimuth (or RA/Dec for EQ mounts).
