I was filtering an observing list that had NO unobserved objects in it, when I accidentally selected - Filter By - Unobserved in this list. Now the Filter By / Sort By icon is missing and I can not restore the list to be viewed. Please help.

Tom Schumann Figured it out. I added another unobserved object to the list, and the filter icon came back.

Mike Atkins I tried to reproduce this and I am unable to.

Jamie Andrews I have seen this too, and reported it as a comment dated 08/09/2022 attached to this entry: https://support.simulationcurriculum.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360050990354--UX-Issue-Observed-Status-Not-Filtering-As-Expected-In-Observing-List-Display-Look-For-This-In-7-0-5-
I believe that this occurs when you:
(a) create an observing list
(b) subsequently select any filter that suppresses all the members of that list
(c) press the "X" to exit the observing list screenWhen you go back in to display that observing list, the filter/sort icon has disappeared, which means that you can't get the list back. If you press "edit", it tells you that you have to "display all" first, which you can't do. Note that this behaviour doesn't seem to occur if you use the Android "back" action to leave the observing list screen - only if you press the "X".
The OP's second post describes a workaround for the particular scenario they describe, but it won't work in other situations (e.g. if you have filtered on "observed in this list only" and there have been no observations yet made for that list, you can't retrieve the icon by adding another object that has already been observed from this list).

Ross Scrivener I have encountered the exact issue described by Jamie above. I've lost the filter icon when showing objects observed in this list only. I can't seem to find a work around. Any help would be appreciated.

Ross Scrivener And I can confirm the problem occurs when I select observed in this list only and then press the x to exit the screen. Pressing back will keep the filter icon.

Ross Scrivener While this is being fixed, I found a work around.
I selected an object that was not in any observing list (like a random star) and created a new observation of it. In the create observation screen I added the object to the broken observing list. Then when I go back into the list the newly added object is there and the filter icon has returned.
