Displaying Observing List Objects

Is it possible to add a features that will only displays unobserved objects in an observing list? Right now what I do is I have two lists with the same objects, named something like MyList and MyListWorking. I display MyListWorking, when I observe something I put observation notes in MyList and then delete the object in MyListWorking. A couple times I mixed up the lists and so I'd like to simplify this.

Other than that SkySafari is simply amazing and so very useful.

Yes, we already have this on our shortlist of features to implement in the first part of this year.  I have  number of observing list enhancements planned.

Would you prefer they not be displayed (highlighted) at all or just displayed in a way you can tell if they've been observed or not?  The former is easier givens where the code is now.

I would prefer they not be displayed. Simplicity is, in this case, better.

Bill, since you're thinking about observing list enhancements, I have transferred my thread about "Observing List, Tap Object, Choice Popup" from the Yahoo forum to here.

Thanks for answering, Bill. If you can implement a different widget to put in the Center option, that would be appreciated, as it is the most frequent option I use.

Re: tapping outside the alert window. Tapping outside an alert is just like tapping outside a popup control panel to dismiss it. I see this in other mobile apps. But as you say, not everyone is familiar with this.

    Thanks for considering a solution.

Looks like this is a difference between the iOS and Android version.  On Android, the alert dialog that is popped up only allows 3 items.  I guess when writing this I decided to drop the Center option.

Let me look into rewriting this using a different widget that will allow more options.  Alternatively, as you suggest, I can remove “Cancel” and use “Center" instead.  However, I am worried that some users may not know they can cancel by tapping outside the alert window.

In SkySafari Pro, 5.0.0.5 for Android and SkySafari Pro, 4.4.7 for Android, Observing Lists Help, Using an Observing List says (paraphrasing): "Tapping an object in the list provides a choice of: Show Info, Edit, Center."

However, the app actually provides a choice of Show Info, Edit, Cancel.

Is this an error in the Help text or a bug in the app?

I would advocate that the app should provide the Center choice, since Cancel can be achieved by tapping outside the choice popup.

As I responded on the (some to be locked) Yahoo group, I've implemented the feature as you suggested.  Thanks.
