I just purchased the upgrade to Skysafari 5 Plus from the Google store. The system starts downloading and then says I don't have enough room. Over several attempts I have deleted almost all of my apps, including skysafari 4 plus on this last go round.. I have 28GB of internal storage available and 27GB available on my SD card. The download says that it only needs 293MB. Can anyone help with this as I have had no response from Simulation Curriculum support.

Bill Tschumy How have you tried contacting us where you didn't get a response? We are generally very prompt through all our channels.
This is not really anything we can address. We are not involved with the installation process, it is handled entirely by Google Play and Android. You should only need around 500MB of free space to install.
I would recommend you try rebooting your device and then downloading again. If that doesn't work you might need to contact Google or do some searching on the web for others with a similar problem.

Peter Turner I have tried to contact your support staff twice. The only time I got a response was after you submitted this comment. Your remedy doesn't work. I have rebooted the device twice to no avail. Contacting Google isn't an option - how / where do you do that? Your software won't install and you as a company refuse to offer support. Terrible.

How did you try to contact us? I would like to understand why you didn't get a response.
SkySafari installs itself on the internal SD card by default. Android is very loose about what the SD card is. Some devices have an internal and an external (removable) SD card. My guess is you have been freeing space on the wrong card. If you look at your system, do you see a "sdcard" at the top level of the file system. That is probably where Google Play is trying to install and where you need to free space.
What kind of device do you have? Maybe I can figure out what the internal SD card is called on yours.

Peter Turner I tried to contact your company via the response ticket system on the support page. The internal storage is labeled root>sdcard. The internal storage has 3.25GB used and 25.27GB available. There is nothing on the external MicroSD card. I have an ASUS TF701 running Anddroid 4.4.2

Bill Tschumy OK, I found your tickets. You opened them at 3:30 pm (my time) yesterday. You need to give us a little time to respond. We will generally answer within 24 hours.
It sounds like you should have plenty of space to install the app. I really suggest you try Googling the error message you get and follow some of the suggestions. There is something unusual going on with your device. If that fails all I can do is offer a refund and our apologies.

Peter Turner I have googled the error message. It does not help. BTW: that is a very lame way of handling support. I have also managed to reach Google Play Store support. They were extremely surprised to find that you suggested contacting them as the software to download and install the app is provided by your company. They took the ticket number and are contacting your company about this matter.
None of this leaves me any closer to getting the product installed on my Android tablet. Since I reached out to this forum I have installed several apps without issue so I doubt the issue is with my device. I suggest that you debug your install code.

Peter Turner As an FYI, I can no longer install Sky Safari 4 Plus. It stops at approximately the same spot (94%) of the installation. Given that both products, even though of different sizes, fail at the same percentage it's probably where you are wrapping up the install process. Perhaps your developers have modified that routine in some way since I originally installed SkySafari 4 Plus.

Here's an analogy. Suppose you go to Home Depot an buy a Whirlpool washer. You contract with them to deliver and install the washer. When they arrive, they aren't able to install it because they couldn't figure out how in your space. Now, do you call up Whirlpool and complain that their washer couldn't be installed? Or do you complain to Home Depot?
The situation is analogous. We really aren't involved in the installation of the app. This is totally Google Play and Android's domain.
The fact that you are also having problem's installing SkySafari 4 indicates there is probably some issue with your device. We haven't updated the SkySafari 4 code in about 14 months since all development is now n SkySafari 5.
I really don't know what the problem could be.
Tell me the exact error message you get and I'll see what I can find by Googling.
