Equipment:
I'm running a Windows 10 based laptop, a Celestron AVX Mount with the Starsense Camera and Hand Controller. The mount is connected to the PC via a Trendnet TU-S9 USB to Serial connector. I have ASCOM Platform 6.3 and the latest Celestron ASCOM Drivers installed.
Steps To Recreate the issue.
- Once I have the telescope aligned I launch SN7 Pro
- From the right navigational pane, I select Telescope control
- In the Telescope Control Pane I select setup->configure
- In the ASCOM pane that pops up, I select my Celestron driver
- I then hit properties to assign it to a COM Port
- I confirm the COM Port is correct and close the properties pane
- I then close the ASCOM pane and hit connect
- After the connection is successful (mount is reporting position at the top of the pane) I then try to choose an object in the main Planetarium Pane and all I get is the Windows error sound
Another way to create the issue:
- Once I have the telescope aligned I launch SN7 Pro
- From the right navigational pane I select Telescope control
- I hit connect
- I go to the Planetarium pane and adjust the sky to a random above the horizon location
- I slew the scope to that location
- I then chose Align To Gaze from the Telescope Control Pane
- I then try to choose an object in the main Planetarium Pane and all I get is the Windows error sound
Notes:
- The cursor no longer becomes the hand shape and remains a pointer
- I cannot close or resize the window
- The telescope control window remains responsive
- If I close the telescope control window the issue with the Planetarium window persists
- I have to use Task Manager to shutdown the application
- I have turned off shaders (was prompted to do so by the application on one of the startups), this had no effect
- I have tested the ASCOM driver mount control with other software without issue
Please advise,
Ken
