Hi,
I have Starry Night Pro 7 (just updated to 7.5.6). I started playing around with the Exoplanets database, and I'm finding that when I turn on a label for a star with an exoplanet (e.g. checking the checkbox in the list of exoplanets), then click on the menu icon and select "Magnify", the resulting position (of the "Star with exoplanet" label) is often nowhere near the standard "Stars" database image of the star in question. I have to zoom out to some degree, then hunt among the nearby stars (or turn on Stars labeling in Options) before I can find the star.
For example, if I am in the list of Exoplanets and select "Aldebaran", the arrowhead on the "Aldebaran - star with exoplanet" label is some distance away from the IMAGE of Aldebaran, which is actually off-the-screen and I have to zoom out to find it.
Mind you, the actual distance between the "Star with exoplanet" label and the star image is only a matter of a few arcseconds. But at the zoom level provided by the "magnify" function, it usually causes the star image to be off the screen entirely. (Also, to be sure, turning on "Stars/Exoplanets" in Options will show an image of the star where the label indicates, but again, it's different from the standard "Stars" database position.)
Is this just a case of different databases measuring the position of a star with more (or less) precision than others? If this is the case, which database ("Stars" or "Exoplanets") am I to consider more accurate?
