Error message when attempting to check SNPP 7 for updates

 Windows 10, 64 bit OS

 

Help>Check for updates

The above results in the following message:

wyUpdate has stopped working.

Windows is checking for a solution to the problem.

This is followed by a pop-up from SN stating No Updates Available

 

Given the error message, it is difficult to believe everything worked correctly.

 

I currently have Version 7.5.5

    Hi Donald, 

    Please delete the current app, then redownload and reinstall.  Let us know if that will work.

    Hi Keiron,

    I deleted the app, requested a download link twice but did not receive an email.  I installed the previous download that I had saved and am getting the same result except now I have an earlier version of SN.  How do I get a new download link?

    Still waiting for a download link for SNPP 7 so I can reinstall and see if my previous error has gone away.

    If you do not see it in your email inbox please check your spam/junk folder.

    Hi Keiron,

    I received your email and re-downloaded SNPP 7.5.5.1108.  The same error still exists, "wyUpdate has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem."  Then SNPP reports "No update available.  There are no updates available for Starry Night Pro Plus at this time."  That may, indeed, be the case but I don't think an actual check took place because it reported the same thing with version 7.5.0.951 and an update was available.  This is a Windows 10 machine, 64 bit OS.  What do you suggest?  Is wyUpdate part of your download?

    Hi Donald,

    wyUpdate is the open source updater that's included with wyBuild. wyUpdate checks for updates, downloads any that are available, and safely updates your program.

    SNPP 7.5.5.1108 is the latest so you should see the message "No update available.  There are no updates available for Starry Night Pro Plus at this time."

    I'm not sure what is happening with the error message.  Would you mind letting me remote your computer to have a look first hand?

    The error is not reproducible, and nobody else is reporting it.

    Did not receive a Teamviewer link.  It may be possible we have an email problem.  My email changed since my original purchases of SN.  How do I get the "correct" email to use to you?

    Don't have an active Spam folder that I know of.  No Teamviewer link received so far that I can find.  Have searched all messages for Subject containing "Request created",  none found.  What can I do to initiate a link?
