Tonight at a glance don't show iridium flare

Hi. I haven't receiving notifications about iridium flares in tonight at a glance. Other apps show me about it (tonight and others nights), but the Skysafari.... I bought the app to this, any clue? Tonight will have a iridium, but the Skysafari don't show it.tks

Some apps have slightly different rules on when to display a flare.  Some will display them during dusk when they are really not that visible.  You should fine that we match other apps the majority of the time.  We have compared our prediction with sites like Heaven's Above and match them almost perfectly except for these marginally visible cases.

You say there will be one tonight.  Please go and look and see if you see it.  I wouldn't assume that we are the one making an error.

Note that the alerts for flares are generated up to two days in advance each time you bring the app to the foreground. If you haven't run the app for a couple of days, the alerts will stop.

Tks for attention. I bought the license because would like to have one app show me notifications about flares. I already had the Heavens Above App, but I saw that SkySafari would notify me about the iridium. I preferred to keep only one App, thinking it was complete for me. And also I have monitored about iridium flares in skysafari and others apps since 7 days ago. Tonight will have a iridium here and Skysafari promised notify me. But...

If you have never been notified of a flare then perhaps the notifications are turned off.   Go to the bottom of the Appearance & Behavior settings.  There is a section entitled Notifications.  Make sure it is ON for "Bright Satellites and Flares".

You might also have to allow the app to post notifications.  Go to the iOS Settings app and choose the Notifications item.  Find SkySafari and make sure it is allowed to display notifications.

All this is ON by default, but perhaps you accidentally turned them off.

From the beginning I put all notifications on. Before buying the App I saw on the site that would be shown on Tonight at a glance the iridiums flares. But until now.... nothing

If you never see Iridiums in the Tonight at a Glance, I can only surmise there aren't any where yo are located.  We've had this feature for a year and a half and have had no reports of problems.  I routinely see them in TaaG and get notifications.

Please give me you exact lat/lon and a time she you would have expected them.

Also be aware that the predictions are for where you are viewing from.  If you are in orbit mode, you won't get any flares.  I doubt that is what is happening in your case but I thought I'd point it out just in case.

I just entered your Lat/Lon into SkySafari.  It is showing that Iridium 95 will flare tonight at 6:11:31 PM (as you have noticed).

Do you know what Iridium flared at 21h17 Z?  Did you actually see it?  If there is a discrepancy, I'd like to know it.  We have tested this code very thoroughly and believe it is correct.

That time is pretty close to our twilight cutoff.  We also take into account the elevation of the flare.  I believe it need to be 10º above the horizon for us to report it.

Today (april 19) I didn't remember what was the Iridium Flared.

Tomorrow (April 20) 21h11Z (18h11 LT) Will be Iridium95, with 54° above horizon. But I can't see this noticies in Tonight at a glance, today or tomorrow.

Advance your time to tomorrow morning and then you should see the flare at 6:17:39 PM.  I think I was wrong when I said we predict flares 2 days in advance.  It is only one day.  The calculations for predictions flares is pretty time intensive and we only do it for 24 hours in advance.

I advanced the time to 18h11 and I can't see the flare. I saw this (pic attach). All versions has Iss and Satellite notifications. My version is Basic. But I can't receive notification, cant see the flare in the sky and can't see any information in Tonight at a Glance. What's wrong? I'm not satisfied

Ah, you are running the basic version.  Sorry, I did not realize that.

The basic version does not have the Iridium satellites and thus will not predict flares.  It does have the ISS, HST, Tiangong and other major satellites and predicts their risings.

Perhaps the chart you referred to could be more clear, but it does not specifically mention Iridium satellites.

I realize you will not be happy to learn this.  I'm going to turn this into a support ticket and I can help you further there.  I think we can work something out.
