alignment between devices

I have sky safari pro on Mac and iPad.

I would like to align on iPad and then be able to control scope (goto) with my Mac is that possible?

Thanks

    Hi,

    What is your alignment method?

    Thanks!

Depends on what kind of scope you have and how you are connecting (SkyFi, Celestron Wi-Fi, etc).  Give me some more information and I'll tell you if it is possible.

No, you will not be able to do this when using Celestron Wi-Fi.

The alignment model is stored on the device, not the mount.  If you switch to a new device there will be no alignment model.  This is the way Celestron designed the Celestron Wi-Fi protocol.

    Sorry.

Would I be able to if I switched to skyfi?

Hi also I have a Skywatcher star discovery and an az eq 6 mounts, would I be able to achieve this with them, with a skyfi device?

    thanks

If you use SkyFi then you generally align using the hand controller and then connect through the HC, using it's alignment model.  So that would really allow you to align using the iPad either.  However, you can switch between devices to control the mount after alignment.

The only cases where you align a non-Celestron Wi-Fi mount using SkySafari is with digital setting circle mounts.
