New eclipse function not working

The new Eclipse function that was recently added to SkySafari (and also the new Eclipse Safari app) are not working on my iPad 2 (iOS 9.3.5, the newest version that will install on the iPad 2).

When selecting any of the "view" options (in either app) the screen just goes black. In SkySafari, a "Done" button in the upper right takes me back to the regular SkySafari screen. In the Eclipse Safari app, I must exit the app completely, then force quit it before it can be restarted.

Also, in both apps it requires two taps of the view buttons before anything happens. (I have seen this kind of double-tap issue on some web site links that do not appear to be coded correctly for touchscreen use.)

    Dean,

We tested this pretty thoroughly on a variety of iOS versions and never saw this behavior.  Not sure what is going on for you but we will investigate.

    Additional Info:

I just tried powering my iPad off and on, then repeated the testing of both apps. Both still display a black screen after displaying "Powered by SkySafari 5". The Eclipse Safari app displayed a map for a fraction of a second after the "Powered by SkySafari 5" message, then went black. But when I tried a second time It just went black without flashing a glimpse of the map.

One thing different is that I only need to tap the buttons once now.

    Thanks for looking into this.

I tested this on an iPad Air 1 running iOS 9.3.5 (same as yours).  It appears to be working fine.

I'm afraid we will need to await more data on this to see if there is a pattern.  I've seen one other report of this today in a App Store Review for SkySafari 5 Pro (I think).  Did you write that in a review or have at least two people seen this?

No, the App Store review was not mine.

if there's any other information that I can provide, just ask.
